“Suburban Struggle” takes place a few years after the nationalization of the newly formed British Railways, with a young Battle of Britain class engine, meeting a new acquaintance at Brighton, the acquaintances is an older T9 class engine who tries to give some old passing wisdom to the younger engine, however he thinks that the new ways our best, but later both engines get themselves into their own individual problems and they both end up helping each other out, with the old and the new both learning something from each other.
